E-201 and QRV 208 attended a 9-11 memorial service in Stanley NC. The colors were presented by Gastonia Fire Department and the Charlotte Fire Department Pipe Band. Jody Whetta Charlotte Fire Department Chaplain opened with a prayer. The pledge of alligiance was recited and the National Anthem was performed by Jessica Stroupe. The Master of Ceremony was Andy Godfrey Stanley Fire Department Chaplain. The speakers for the service were Jody Whetta Charlotte Fire Department Chaplain. Alan Cloninger Gaston County Sheriff. Tony Sherrill Chairman of Gaston College Council of Veterans Affairs. Bill Melton Gaston County Police Captain. Tim Teague McAdenville Fire Chief.Following the speakers there was the lighting of candles ringing of the bell a 21 gun salute and taps.A special thanks goes out to Chief Anthony Ballard for organizing this event. Chief Ballard has helped ensure that people in this area will not forget those that lost their lives on 9-11-2001.
