At approximately 1800 hrs Engine 200 was dispatched on second alarm to assist Community sta 32 to an Apartment Fire in the Springwood area off Hickory Grove Rd with multiple calls confirming a working fire. Eng 323 Community was first due on the box and arrived to find a 2 story wood frame apartment complex with heavy fire showing from the C side and the roof. Eng 323 pulled 2 1 34 handlines forced entry and made an aggressive interior attack. Chief Jackson 3200 arrived and established command. 32s box also brought Sta 30 and Sta 40 and Ladder 34. Chief Jackson struck a Second alarm due to the heat of the day and the fire extension into the attic where there were no fire walls. 2nd alarm brought Engine 200 Tanker 314 Lucia-Riverbendand Engine 503New Hope. Soon after Chief Jackson pulled the 3rd alarm. which brought Engine 194 RanloandEngine 173Lowell. Control time was called within the hour. Engine 200s crew operated approx 2 hours with salvage and overhaul operstions.
