On Saturday May 5 2007 Engine 200 was distapched to assist Boger City and Lincolnton Fire to a report of smoke in a commercial structure. The structure was Al Lane Inc. Motorcycle Shop a large seller of motorcycles and ATVs in Lincolnton. Engine 42 arrived to report light smoke showing in interior of structure. Interior crews located the fire in the attic area of the structure and extinguished same. Crews had an extensive amount of salvage and overhaul due the blown insulation in the attic area. Extra engines had to be dispatched due to the nearest hydrant some 1400 feet away. A hydrant was previously located about 200 feet from the commercial business but was taken out due to a motor vehicle collision approximately 7 years ago and has never been replaced. Units that responded were E42 E41 Squad 46 L1 E3 E200 Car420 Lincoln County Fire Marshals Office Lincoln County EMS. Alexis units operated approx 3.5 hours before returning to service.
