It is with deep regret that the Alexis Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of charterlife member Lawrence McAlister Jr. and his beloved wife Helen. Helen passed away October 23 2006 at Gaston Memorial Hospital she was 82 yrs of age. Jr. passed away the following day October 24 2006. They were married for 59 yrs. Jr. served the citizens of this community for well over 20 yrs as a firefighter. Helen also served as a member with the ladys auxiliary in the late 70s and early 80s. Visitation for both will be 7-9 pm Friday October 27 2006 at Carothers Funeral Home Stanley. The Funeral will be Saturday October 28 2006 at the Alexis Baptist Church at 3pm. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the McAlister family.
