Today at 1500 hrs The Alexis Volunteer Fire Department officially held the ground breaking ceremony for our new substation in Lincoln County. The substation will be located on Old Plank Road near the intersections of Brevard Place and Tuckers Grove Road. By building this station it will better serve our citizens in this area with faster response times everyone in our district will be inside the 6 mile district lower insurance rates and quicker response to mutual aid areas such as East Lincoln Denver and Punkin Center Fire Departments. It will house two pumper-tankers a first responder unit and a Lincoln County EMS unit. This is a exciting day for the community and the fire department. We have been trying for four years to place a station in this area to provide the best service possible for the citizens in our district and now it is finially going to happen. The building permit was issued by Lincoln County last week and construction will start sometime within the week.
