At 0930 hrs Engine 201 and Brush 207 responded to check for heavy smoke in the area at Mariposa Rd and Upper Stanley Rd in our first due area in Gaston. Alexis units arrived to find a large mulch pile that had caught fire. NC Forestery Service was called out and plowed a fire line around the mulch pile. This will contune to burn and produce alot of smoke in this area for days to come. All Alexis units cleared at 1030 hrs.
