At 1445 Engine 200 was dispatched to assist Station 21 High-Shoalsto a reported fire at the well known South Fork Fish Camp. Engine 200 arrived along with High Shoals units to find heavy fire showing from the rear of the structure. The crew from Alexis tried to make an interior attack but had to evacuate the building due to the favorable conditions for a flashover. Fire had quickly progressed throughout the attic and had vented through the roof when the crew was exiting the building. A defensive fire attack was initiated by command. Ladder 61Ag Centerand Telesquirt 214High Shoalswere set into place for master stream operations. Several fire departments were dispatched as a water shuttle operation was set up drafting out of a nearby pond. The crew from Alexis operated for approx. three hours before returning to service.
