At 1408 Engine 201 200 and QRV 208 responded to a natural gas line that was struck by a trackhoe on Hwy 27 in front of the old Royal Cordage rope plant in our Gaston County first due. Engine 201 arrived and immediatilly shut down a section of Hwy 27 for saftey precautions. Engine 200 diverted traffic off 27 down Taylor Rd which makes a circle back to Hwy 27 as well as did 208 at the oppisite end. Hwy 27 was shut down for about two hours while Public Service Natural Gas Company responded to the scene to stop and fix the 4 inch line that was cut. Once the scene was deemed safe by Command Hwy 27 was reopened. A unit from Stanley FD also responded for traffic control. All Alexis units were back in service at 1600.
