pstrongnbsp Strong storms rolled through Gaston and Lincoln Counties Wednesday evening causing trees to fall and numerous lightning strikes. Engine 203 and Brush 207 first responded to Old Plank Rd at Faith baptist Church in Base 2 Lincoln Co. areanbspfor a tree across the roadway blocking the entire road. After they cleared the road about three minutes later a call came in on Alexis-Lucia Rd for a structure fire. Brush 207 was passing the house when it came in and found a single story wood frame structure with fire showing from the eve of the house and appeared lightning had struck it causing the fire. 207s crew pulled and 1 12 off and extinguished the fire on the front porch eve. Engine 201 arrived and forced entry into the house and made their way into the attic to check for extension. Engine 203s crew assisted by East Gaston Fdnbspopened up the roof area where the fire was located and made a quick overhaul. Engine 200 and Tankers 204 and 205 stood by for water supply. The fire was brought under control within five minutes of arrival. East Gaston Stanley and Lucia also responded for mutual aid.strongppnbspp
