With the warm weather that we have expericenced over the last several days has brought with it some grass and woods fires. On Friday Brush 207 and Engine 203 responded to a broom straw field on fire on Old Plank Rd near Lowes lane in our Lincoln County first due. The fire was spreading fast due to the 10 to 15 mph winds. Command called for East Lincoln Station 3 for a brush truck and tanker. The fire was brought under control within 15 mins with approx an acre burned On Saturday Brush 207 and Engine 203 responded to a woods fire that was threating a structure on Antler Dr in our Lincoln County first due. Alexis units arrived on scene to find a fast moving fire running uphill toward a structure. East Lincoln was called again for brush truck and tanker for assistance. The fire was brought under control in 25 minutes. Units remained on scene for almost an hour for extensive mop up. Quick response on both calls was the key to the fire not spreading any more than it already had and causing any structral damage.
