On Sunday February 11 2007 at approximately 300 am Boger City Fire and Alexis Fire were dispatched to a structure fire on Highway 73 near Low Bridge Road. Engine 42 arrived to find fire coming through the roof on the A-side of structure. Crews were able to get a quick knockdown on the fire while search crews were obtaining a primary search. The fire was extinguished and the search crews reported negative on the primary search. After talking with neighbors and family members they determined the dwelling should have been occupied. Crews then performed a thorough search and revealed one fatality underneath the collapsed roof and floor section of the living room of the structure. The fire was brought under control in a matter of minutes after the initial engine arrived on scene. The investigation has been turned over to the Lincoln County Sheriffs Department and the Lincoln County Fire Marshals Office.
